Wooden Flame, Vinyl Chloride Film, Toner, Images using a slide projector in the rear, 1030mm × 1030mm (part), 1997.

This is central right-side end part of the work. Because a face of Ame-chan seems to be trussed up by a bandage, so I call it with "Ho-Tai(bandaged) Ame-chan". However, it is accidental to look like a bandage. When I print images, I use an iron for a vinyl film, I melt the toner which attaches to paper by the heat of the iron and copy it on a vinyl film, When the temperature of the iron is too high, a vinyl membrane extends, and heat and pressure of the iron pressed again there, so vinyl film was folded and pressed several times. As a result, the part of which folded and pressed, was seen like "bandaged", when the backlight shines to it. The folded part shuts out the light, so it looks like shadow. And various words seem to be written on the bandage. For example, "suddenly! culture has become overripe".
