春日社の参道ワキハ原始林

この年（1977年）、初詣で奈良の春日大社に参拝。ものすごい人出であったが、それを包みこんであまりある原生林はやはりたいしたもの。1200年近く前から伐採されていないため、照葉樹林の極相林となっている。世界遺産にも指定。

Both sides of the introduction road of Kasuga Shrine are the primeval forest.

I went to Kasuga Taisha Shrine of Nara at New Year's visit in 1977. It was a tremendous crowd, but the virgin forest to wrap people up was splendid enough. Because it is not felled for nearly 1, 200 years, this forest is becoming the climax of the laurel forest, and is designated a World Heritage.
