この作品は、昔住んでいた家の近くの公園で見かけたスツールの表面の塗装がまことに美しくひび割れていたので感激して写真に撮り、そこから作りました。したがって、「天の門」というタイトルには、さほどの意味はありません。

This work is based on my photo in old days. One day I had a walk to a park near my house, and I saw the really beautiful crazing at the surface of a stool in that park. It was a crazing on the paint of that stool. My heart was heavily moved, and I photographed it. I made this work from that photo. So, there is not special meaning about the title "A Celestial Gate" .
