この作品は、名古屋市の熱田神宮にお参りしたときの印象を元にしたものです。熱田神宮の社殿の建築様式は、今は伊勢神宮の神明造りと同じスタイルで、しかも伊勢神宮の古材をもらって建てているので、これはまた伊勢神宮の内宮の印象といってもさしつかえないのですが、なぜか、両方の神社は、行ってみるとかなり違っており、熱田神宮は、優美でたおやかな風情です（これに対して、伊勢の内宮は荒削りの男性的な印象。祭神は女神のはずなのに）。神明造りという建築様式は、まことに均斉がとれていて美しいと私は思います。屋根に並ぶ十個の勝男木（鰹木）の端面に貼られた黄金が、まるで宇宙船の窓のようだ……そういう印象から、こんな絵になりました。これはまだ制作の中途段階の写真ですが、完成品では、中央に神秘の柱である「心の御柱」が輝いています。

This work was based on an impression when I prayed at Atsuta-jingu Shrine of Nagoya-shi. The architectural style of Atuta-Jingu Shrine is just same as that of Ise-Jingu Shrine. This architectural style is called "Shinmei-Dukuri" (Style of brightness of God ). In addition, materials of buildings of Atuta-Jingu Shrine are reused materials which were used at Ise-Jingu Shrine once. The figure of the building of Atuta-Jingu Shrine is identical to that of Ise-Jingu Shrine, so my impression should be also identical. But when I stood in front of Atuta-Jingu Shrine, my impression was different from that of Ise. According to my feeling, Atuta-jingu Shrine is elegant, graceful, But Ise-jingu Shrine (Nai-kuu Shrine), is rather rough-planed and masculine. Though the enshrined deity of Ise-jingu Shrine should be the goddess, it was such an impression strangely. The architectural style of Shinmei-Dukuri is balanced and beautiful, I think. Ten gold disks which were put on the end face of the short circle sticks which formed a line on a roof look like round windows of spaceship……I thought so, and pictured such. But above is the stage on the way. In the finished work, there is the mystic pillar (which was named "Shin-no-Mihasira", pillar of mind) at the center of the structure.
