「SOMA」は「からだ」、「ASTRA」は「星々」で、「星のからだ」というほどの意味です。「大宇宙」に対して、人体のことを「小宇宙」と言ったりしますが、自分のからだのことを考えてみても、からだというのはまことにふしぎなものだと思います。以前に読んだ本で、静かな自然の中で、夜に星々をみあげていると、自分のからだの発する音のリズムが聞こえる……と書いてあったのがありましたが、たしかにそういうこともあると思います。「響き合うものをもっている」という以上に深いつながりがあるように感じます。

The word "SOMA" means "body", and the word "ASTRA" means "stars" in ancient Greek. So, the word "SOMASTRA" means "a body as stars" maybe. The human body is called "a microcosm" in contrast to "a macrocosm", considering my own body, I think that a human body is very mystic object. I read a book in the past, and the book says that. When man went to a silent place in the nature, at pure night, he saw the beautiful sky with millions of stars, could heard his inner body's sounds. I think it maybe possible. Between a body and the space, it is said, "resonance will be there", but I feel that there is a further deep connection more.
