「INVISI―アンヴィジ」は、1997年に名古屋の画廊で開いた個展のタイトルで、「否視」という意味です。つまり、見ることを拒否する。「本当に見たいものは見えない」が、この個展のテーマでした。人は、なにかをよく見ようとして目をこらす。そして、「見えた」と思ったらそれで納得する。この、人の「納得」は、はたしてどこから生まれるのか……あるいは、どこまで行っても納得できないということがあるのだろうか……人が人を見るとき、その視線は皮膚で止まります。それ以上は見えない。皮膚を見ることが、その人を見たということになるのか……ブクステフーデのカンタータに、「われらがイエスの皮膚」というのがあります。このタイトルは、ふつうは「われらがイエスのからだ」とか訳されるが、ラテン語の原題は「membraー皮膚」です。視線は皮膚で止まる。そして、そこには重大なことが起こるのです。ブクステフーデのこのカンタータは、無料で楽譜がダウンロードできます。＜リンク＞

"INVISI" means, "no see" with the title of the private exhibition at an art gallery of Nagoya in 1997. In brief, "refusing to look". When a person watches other people, his sight is stopped with skin, and his sight does not see the other side from there. Thus, to watch a person is to watch the skin of the person. In a cantata of Buxtehude, there is "The Limbs of our Jesus". The original of words translated as "Limbs" here is "membra" in the Latin, and if I translate it literally it will be "skin".
