Wakutama-no-ike (Pond of Wakutama)

At a return from Tokyo, I got off in Fujinomiya and prayed at Fujisan Hongu Sengen Shrine. This is one of the Shinto shrines to enshrine Mount Fuji, and the enshrined deity is Konohanasakuyahime-no-mikoto (Goddess of the flower). The image that is gorgeous like cherry blossoms in young, beautiful goddess. There is the mysterious pond called "the pond of Wakutama" in the precincts of this Shinto shrine, and clean water continues springing out without always dying. Besides, water temperature is always constant. This secret depends on the source of the flow being stable. The underflow water streams down through body of Mt. Fuji, and in the foot of the mountain, the water springs out. Under that huge body of mountain, there are rich amount of water through the year, and this pond is one of spring place of water at Mt. fuji. If I mention other places, Kakita river, famous of clean water, Siraito waterfall, and so on.
