別雷/わけいかづち
京都の上賀茂神社の御祭神。賀茂の別雷の命。「別」の字は、通常の解釈では「すばらしい」という形容詞的意味にとるが、この神社の近くにお住まいの元琴平宮の宮司さんのお話によれば、「電気の働きを+と−に別ける」という動詞的な解釈になるとのこと。この世界を生成する働き。「神様の常におられる神社ではありません。」とも語られた。
Wakeikadzuchi
Wakeikadzuchi is the name of the enshrined deity of Kamigamo Shrine of Kyoto. By the normal interpretation, "ikadzuchi" means "thunder".
